This basement in Ferndale was finished about 2007 the first time. The wonderful customers went for a product that was intended to be in a basement, a Fiberglass and Fabric wall panel system. We were called after the customer noticed a lot of water coming from a wall and they tore open the wall and were waiting for the appointment for the foundation waterproofing company. There was no leak in the foundation, just a massive amount of condensation that ruined the walls floors and ceilings.
Another item that they fond is cats love to climb the fiberglass and fabric walls. 1 early morning the cat was found chasing a mouse along the top of the wall. and at that point to stop that they covered the fiberglass and fabric panels with a thin wood panel and painted them.
Jump forward a few more years and a little advertisement for basement finishing hits their mail box and they call to see what we can do for them. This basement needed to have the existing floors and walls removed, and the perimeter of the ceiling. We found that the wall dividing the living space from the garage was not insulated to meet the requirements of a living space, the electric was not adequate for the space. Our electrician asked what what they are doing today and any future plans so the service can handle the load. We then installed The EverLast Wall Panel System with the 50 year warranty. The ceiling was reinstalled in part using our EverLast Ceiling Tiles with a 30 year warranty against mold and sagging. And we installed 3 different types of our ThermalDry Flooring with a fifteen year warranty. We finished it off using a waterproof crown molding to add a nice rich look that never needs paint and the base trim that also never needs to be painted.
We created a small reading room area with 4 1/2 foot high walls with a PVC shelf along the top to create a separation and then we added a great kitchen area with an island sink. The new added insulated glass door to the future patio is great for the added egress to the space.
The storage room with the well tank needed a little brightness added so Foamax Wall Insulation was attached to the wall and we added some extra light in the room and that is where we installed the SaniDry Sedona basement air system.
