Starting to dig
Sometimes an egress window requires a deep hole to gain access to the basement. This cannot always be done by hand.
The opening is made.
Here we used a very specialized saw to create an opening to fit the window. We also dig the home to meet the footing drains to allow any water that gets in the hole to drain away and not come through the window and fill the bottom of the hoe with stone to aid in drainage.
Window installed
Here you can see the the window is installed into the frame created with pressure treted lumber. After the lumber is insalled the window gets attached to the pressure trated wood frame. Before the final PVC trim is attached we also use a heavy about of silicone sealant to add to the water protection.
